Market Participants

Participants in the Swarm ecosystem fall into three primary categories, each playing a vital role in maintaining a decentralized, transparent, and efficient marketplace for real-world assets (RWAs).

Liquidity Providers (LPs)

Liquidity Providers supply capital to the Swarm platform in the form of tokenized real-world assets or stablecoins. By doing so, they enable deep, permissioned and permissionless liquidity across token pairs and facilitate smooth execution of trades. LPs may include individual investors, asset managers, or institutional entities seeking yield, exposure, or liquidity provisioning opportunities. LPs can post limit orders in the decentralized OTC (dOTC) system.

Traders

Traders are users who exchange tokenized RWAs on Swarm's decentralized infrastructure. They may seek to gain exposure to traditional assets such as stocks, bonds, or gold using crypto-native workflows. Traders interact with the system through interfaces like the Swap page or by submitting RFQs (Requests for Quote) to access deep liquidity from both on-chain and off-chain sources. Depending on the asset and jurisdictional requirements, traders may need to complete KYC and source-of-funds checks before accessing specific offers.

Developers

Developers are the builders who expand and enrich the Swarm ecosystem by integrating directly with Swarm’s smart contracts and APIs. They can create new financial products, interfaces, analytics tools, or DeFi protocols using Swarm’s permissionless infrastructure. Whether building yield strategies, deploying tokenized asset dashboards, or integrating with wallets and exchanges, developers help unlock new use cases for tokenized RWAs and push the boundaries of what’s possible in compliant decentralized finance.
